Each specialty page describes what the role does on a program, the certifications employers ask for with the issuing body's own requirements, the clearance levels commonly required, the engagement models that fit, and the industries and markets that hire it.

Requisitions are matched on the specialty first. A hiring manager who needs a DevSecOps engineer with a Secret eligibility in Huntsville is shown candidates who fit all three terms, and the written submittal maps each candidate to the labor category, certifications, clearance, location and rate the requisition states.

Certifications and clearances on requisitions

Department of Defense contracts commonly specify a certification for each cyber work role, and civilian agencies and commercial employers name the vendor credentials that match their platforms. The specialty pages list the credentials most often requested, from CompTIA Security+ and CySA+ through ISC2's CISSP and CGRC, ISACA's CISM and CISA, the GIAC, Offensive Security and EC-Council credentials, Cisco, Red Hat and the Kubernetes administrator credential, and the AWS, Microsoft Azure and Google Cloud architect credentials, each with the requirement the issuing body publishes. Certifications are confirmed with the issuing body at screening, and the expiration date is recorded on the submittal.

As a rule, software, cloud and data roles on federal programs run from Public Trust to TS/SCI depending on the agency, cybersecurity and network roles cluster at Secret and TS/SCI, and embedded, RF and systems engineering roles on defense programs sit at Secret with Top Secret for program offices.
