Direct hire engagements
A direct hire engagement fills a permanent position on your own payroll.
The candidate joins as your employee from the first day, and Recruiters Workforce is paid a placement fee, agreed in writing before the search, when the candidate starts. The search is contingent: no fee is due unless a candidate the firm submitted is hired.
The model fits a permanent seat with approved headcount and a hiring manager ready to interview. It is the standard model for cleared positions where the sponsoring program needs the employee on the contractor's own books, and for commercial technology positions where a contract period is not wanted.
How the engagement works
- Who employs the worker
- The client, from the start date, on its own payroll and benefits. Recruiters Workforce is never the employer of a direct hire.
- How the fee works
- A placement fee agreed in writing before the search begins, calculated on the basis the agreement states and invoiced when the candidate starts. The agreement includes a replacement term for a candidate who leaves within a stated period.
- Typical duration
- The search runs until the seat is filled or the requisition is withdrawn. The candidate's employment is permanent.
- When it fits
- A permanent seat with approved headcount, key personnel positions, roles the contract requires on the prime's payroll, and any position where the employer wants the employee on its own books from day one.
What the employer receives
A shortlist screened against the requisition, each candidate with a written submittal summary, interview scheduling, and a compensation negotiation carried by the firm so that the written offer is accepted. The agreement sets the fee basis, the replacement period and the terms under which a candidate submitted for one requisition may be hired for another.
What the candidate should expect
A permanent offer from the employer, negotiated within the range the candidate set at screening. The employer's own onboarding, benefits and, for cleared positions, security in-processing. Recruiters Workforce stays in contact through the first weeks and remains the candidate's point of contact for anything that needs raising with the employer.
Questions about direct hire
Is the placement fee a fixed percentage?
The fee basis is set in the written agreement for each employer, and the site does not quote a standard rate. The agreement states the basis, the point at which the fee is invoiced, and the replacement period, before the search begins.
Can a direct hire search be exclusive?
Yes. Exclusivity for a defined period, in exchange for a committed search timeline, is one of the terms an employer can ask for. Where the position is senior or has stayed open, the retained search model is usually the better fit.
